Dr. Ashley T. Randall is a 2009 double graduate of Tuskegee University, completing both her undergraduate and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine training there. She is small animal veterinarian and proud owner of West End Animal Wellness Center (est. 2015). The West End Animal Wellness Center is a full service veterinary and boarding facility in the West End neighborhood of downtown Atlanta.
Dr. Ashley Randall tells us, "I’m looking to spread awareness about the veterinary industry. I’m also seeking to document my unique journey as an African-American female creating a new space for women of color in a male dominated field."
Dr. Randall started her career as Dr. Ashley Alford (her maiden name) with The Village Vets of Decatur in 2009. She practiced and honed her skills in small animal surgery, dentistry, internal and emergency medicine there. Dr. Randall quickly became a rising star within the highly competent and competitive veterinary staff and was consistently a top producer for the company. In 2014, after having her beautiful daughter Emery Adele, Dr. Randall decided it was time for a bold vision of change.
She decided to branch out into the entrepreneurial realm; purchasing a defunct building, completely renovating it from the ground up, and starting her own practice, West End Animal Wellness Center. Since opening, the Wellness Center has grown it’s clientele to over 6,000 with over 9,000 pets seen! The business has become a staple in the West End community; and frequently partners with other local organizations for community giveaways and give backs. In working with the community, Dr. Randall realized there was a growing need for reprensentation and advocacy within the profession for kids of color.
