Announcing the winner of the AVMA Early Career Opportunities Scholarship
Congratulations to Dr. Mariea Ross-Estrada, the winner of The AVMA Early Career Opportunities $1000 scholarship. Dr. Ross-Estrada will be representing BlackDVM Network at the AVMA Veterinary Leadership Conference in Chicago from January 6- 9, 2022. Dr. Ross-Estrada is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Small Animal Primary Care at North Carolina State University. A little bit about her in her own words, “ As a junior faculty member and Black woman, it is imperative that I have additional training in communication, intrapersonal and interpersonal skills so that I can thrive despite a system that wasn’t built for my success. My accomplishments will provide encouragement for under-represented students to achieve even greater victories than my own.” We’re so proud to have you representing us Dr. Ross-Estrada!
