2023 BlackDVM Network Year In Review

BlackDVM Network is a safe space for Black veterinarians, technicians, and assistants to connect, learn, and empower one another. We provide a community for Black veterinary professionals to advance their careers and access economic opportunities. We believe successful veterinary professionals are core to the advancement of veterinary medicine.

MEMBERSHIP

Our members are bold thought-leaders in the veterinary community. We provide them with the opportunity to participate in conferences, attend webinars and summits at no cost, network with like-minded individuals, and receive personalized planning for their career.





American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine Forum


Cierra McKoy and Dr. Gabby Minter represented us at the Colleagues & Cocktails - Connecting Communities Reception event at the ACVIM Forum in Philadelphia to create awareness of our mission and priorities. Over 1500 professionals attended ACVIM this year.


National Association for Black Veterinarians

Cierra McKoy, Dr. Courtney Hughes, and Nonyé Williams attended the NABV Conference on our behalf. They worked our booth for the weekend talking with students and veterinary professionals.






BlackDVM Network Calendar


Our previous calendar benefited Black veterinary students at Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine with $5000 of the calendar proceeds going to the Dr. Jodie G. Blackwell Scholarship organized by Companions and Animals for Reform and Equity (CARE).
