About the Event
Drs. Tosha Starke and Melani French have 20+ years in combined general practice experience. In this talk, they'll be discussing common skin and ear cases seen in general practice and how they manage these cases.
Dr. Tosha Starke grew up on a grain and livestock farm in Brunswick County, Virginia. Pursuing her passions of caring for and healing animals she received her DVM degree from Virginia Tech in 2004. Since then she has been practicing in Northern Virginia. Dr. Starke’s experience is varied and well rounded. She has practiced as a Chief of Staff in two hospitals, provided medical care to shelter pets as well as worked as associate veterinarian. Her interests include dentistry and surgery and she loves the interaction and relationships that she builds with patients and clients.
Dr. Starke lives in Northern Virginia with her husband, her children Christopher and Gabby and three dogs: Dozer, Bruce and Kettle. Starting All Four PAWS Veterinary Relief was a wonderful way for her to balance her passion as a mom and as a veterinarian and spend more time with her family.
Dr. Melani French has always known she wanted to be a veterinarian since she was four years old and has worked in the veterinary field since 2005 as a veterinary assistant, receptionist, and then as a doctor! She graduated in the top ten of her class with her DVM degree from VirginiaMaryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine (VMRCVM) at Virginia Tech after completing her undergraduate degree (Biological Sciences) at Hampton University in Hampton, VA. Dr. French grew up in Manassas, VA and returned post-graduation to serve as a small animal general practitioner, a relief surgeon, and as a lead veterinarian/medical director before deciding to pursue a better work-life balance as a relief veterinarian with All Four Paws! Her professional interests include surgery, internal medicine, & advanced diagnostic imaging such as radiology and ultrasound.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time mentoring and coaching youth groups and hanging out with her family, friends, and her 2 shih-tzu mixes, Tanner and Jake! Dr. French will quickly admit that she has a soft spot for WFDs—white fluffy dogs!
